Political Aspirations & Achievements

In 2005, Orlausi started his political career as an active member of the People’s Democratic Party in Osun State. In 2007, he secured candidature with the Leadership Party and contested for election into the Federal House of Representatives, but stepped down for a more experienced older politician after the consensus dialogue.

From 2007-2010, he served as the Senior Special Assistant (Executive Assistant) of Water Resources and Rural Development to Osun State Government under Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, the formal Executive Governor of Osun State.

In January 2014, Oralusi formally announced her candidacy for the office of Governor of the Osun State in the 2014 Governorship Election under Action Alliance. He had very good public support and a large donor network.  His campaign focused on the alleviation of poverty and wealth creation through pro-poor programmes and affordable services for the low income. He was keen on basic education, healthcare for all, agriculture, SME and infrastructural development.
